Minutes January 24, 2007, Board Meeting

Sunnyvale Rod and Gun Club

  1. Call to order:  6 pm

Jim Sanchez, Chuck Giordanego, Claudia Daw, John Galloway, Don Del Grande, Sam Gow, Gary Brennan, Dennis Fontaine,

Also present – Lt. James Kasper (DFG)

  1. Approval of minutes for the October18, 2006 board meeting
  1. Treasurer’s report – presented by Claudia Daw

October 2006 balance $11,073.74

            Debits $1641.90

            Deposits $493.01

Ending balance - $9,461.84

 Will open a new bank account after the annual election.

OLD BUSINESS

  1. Instructor of the Year nomination

Biographies of candidates will be mailed to the Board Members with each member sending their choice of candidate to the President by next Friday

  1. In Service

PCHEA will donate 3 muzzle loaders, and John Galloway will donate 3 prints to the general raffle.

There will also be a vendor who will have knife sharpeners, which have the PCHEA logo

There was discussion regarding the speaker for the In Service training.  Sam Gow, seconded by Gary Brennan that PCHEA pay $2500 to offset the cost of having Dr. Benson (Colorado State University) as a quest speaker.  Motion passed.

Sam Gow presented information on a disabled hunt program. This discussion was tabled and Sam Gow, Don Del Grande and Mike Vaianna will discuss the matter and present further information to the Board.

 NEW BUSINESS

  1. Election of officers

John Galloway, Gary Brennan and Charles Gilmore will run for another term, Claudia Daw will not run reelection.

A discussion of possible Board candidates was held

  1. Additional items

Discussion of purchasing shirt with PCHEA logo and the individuals name for the Board of Directors to wear at the In Service training.  Dennis Fontaine will obtain a price for printing the shirts

Sam Gow presented a variety of items

Chuck Giordanego requested that we purchase additional shirt for the upcoming Advance Hunter Education Clinic – Pig Seminar.  We would purchase 4 dozen shirts in various sizes for an approximate cost of $1482.  It was suggested that we also purchase 4 dozen hats at and approximate cost of $380.  The overall cost should be approximately $1997 dollars.  The Board approved the purchase of the shirts and hats.

 

Meeting adjourned at 8 pm.  .Next meeting is scheduled for April.
